Utah Adds Kinetic Books’ Algebra I Textbook
to State Recommended Curriculum

SEATTLE, July 21, 2009 - Kinetic Books Company, an interactive textbook publisher, announced today that the Curriculum & Instruction Department of the Utah State Office of Education now lists Kinetic Books’ Algebra I as recommended instruction material.

"Utah was the first state to adopt our digital textbooks, for first year physics, back in 2005," said Mark Bretl, vice president at Kinetic Books Company. "So it was especially gratifying when the state also adopted our Algebra I textbook."

Kinetic Books provides standards-compliant, comprehensive textbooks in math and science at a fraction of the cost of traditional paper textbooks. The philosophy behind the company’s textbooks is simple: make engaging, affordable curriculum so that all students can learn better. Kinetic TextbooksTM contain all the words you expect from a traditional text, and they also include audio and video narrations, simulations and animations that help to describe the lesson. Narrated, interactive whiteboards introduce students to elements within a lesson. Quick Checks and Kinetic Homework provide scored self-assessment and assistance, with immediate access to relevant problem examples.

"With the additional information and tools, it’s almost like having a professor inside the textbook," continued Bretl. "Students who may not comprehend the lesson in class can review it through their own preferred learning style, whether that be by reading, watching, or listening to problems and solutions."

Kinetic Books' Algebra I pricing starts at $34.95 per copy, as opposed to $65.00 and more for a comparable traditional textbook. Printed copies to supplement the texts are available.
