For those who prefer to read a description of the product:

The digital Algebra I textbook is complete and comprehensive and is intended to replace traditional printed textbooks. You can get a sense for this as we continue to add to our correlations.

The textbook has 14 chapters as well as appendices. It begins with algebraic expressions and ends with quadratic functions and parabolas. A typical chapter has about 60 sections. A section covers a single topic such as "equations with decimals" or "inequalities with absolute value". Each chapter has an introduction section, a summary, a practice chapter test and standardized test practice problems. Click here for a table with units (about 8 per chapter) or click here for a list of topics by sections.

When using the Algebra I textbook, students can read the text, look at diagrams, and solve problems. When used this way, the digital textbook functions like a print textbook. Teachers can use the digital version of the textbook on overhead display systems to take advantage of the activities and whiteboards. The activities often make for excellent team projects.

When using the digital textbook on a computer, students can:

  • Apply their algebra skills to "solve" activities. They can write an equation for a give-and-go soccer play, write algebraic expressions to evaluate new product plans in a virtual world, use quadratic equations to create art, simplify expressions to create multi-level mobiles, plot data points to create a trend line, plot lines to move between platforms to help a character escape, solve equations to play a collaborative game, and more.
  • Get assistance as needed while working through thousands of interactive problems. Students can get step-by-step assistance in the form of audio hints and one-click access to relevant examples.
  • Track their progress using the score reports.
  • See hundreds of ideas and sample problems explained in the textbook's whiteboards. The whiteboards use animation and audio narration to provide step-by-step explanations to students.
