What is a Kinetic
Books virtual lab?
Read a description of how
the virtual labs work, and detailed summaries of two labs.
What are the topics
of the labs?
Sixteen electronic labs cover topics including motion in one
dimension, waves and music, orbits, electric charge, electromagnetic
induction and special relativity. Click here
for a summary of the labs.
What is the level
of the labs?
The labs do not require calculus. Some topics (RLC circuits
for instance) are more advanced than others (such as motion
in one dimension). Read the lab
summaries to decide if the labs are appropriate for your
class.
How do I buy it?

What is the single-user pricing?
Labs pricing starts at $24.95 per student machine if students want to explore them on their own personal computers.
What is the multi-user pricing?
Virtual Physics Labs costs $299 for 35 computers in a computer lab at an institution; any number
of students can use the same computer. Click here
for more information on pricing.
Are they designed
to replace "real" labs?
No. Many of these labs deal with subjects that are hard or
impossible to cover in a traditional lab (such as spacecraft-docking
exercises, or experiments in special relativity). Others add
"missions" to challenge students to use their skills
(for instance, juggling five chainsaws simultaneously).
